long weekend...

our long weekend was great! We had a family reunion in Huntsville with my dad's side of the family. There was lots of people to catch up, to meet and just laugh with. The boys were in and at out of the freezing cold water a lot! The boys fished and swam and splashed. The boys caught nothing. I am not sure that anyone really caught many fish even though the lake is stocked. Me, I spent the least amount of time at the lake as humanly possible as I could as the black flies were crazy. I remembered by Sunday to take my camera out :( so I only have photos from the last two days...I have yet to upload them.

On the way home, we were detoured in O'ville due to the truck malfunctioning.  We made lemonaide from our lemons and spent some time with friends, at every kids park and walking around town delivering flowers. Once the truck was all fixed we headed home catching just the beginings of the storm that hit the town. It was odd while driving down Fergus rd to have a sudden downpour of rain that was blowing horizontally. I decided to plug on rather than pull over as I didn't know how long or intense the storm was going to get. The boys were both very happy to finally be home and united with L. She stayed with a friend while we were away for the weekend.

As for the kid's future, there is a meeting on the 27th to determine who thier family will be. In the meantime, we just wait. We continue life as normal pretending that these might not be our last days together.

The flower bed I built a wall for outfront was planted with vegetables last week. CO has claimed it as his, which is ok as it just means he gets to take on part of the responsibility of weeding and watering and in the end can take ownership of the final products. The chickens are growing nicely and CO was so excited how much they grew the four days we were away. In a couple more months we should start getting eggs. While in O'ville CO purchased a strawberry plant so we need to determine where we will be planting that. The weather has been sunny and warm since we returned which means lots of time walking around town and enjoying the backyard. I got out the kiddy pool last night and all the kids had a cool down before bed. Once all the kids were in bed I hit the shower and had an early night.
